SMS Notifications — Terms & Opt-In Notice

Program description

RentFlow is a property-management software platform used by landlords and property management companies (each, a Sender) to operate their businesses. When you are a tenant, owner, or employee of a Sender, you may receive text messages from that Sender through our platform. Messages are sent from a toll-free number operated by RentFlow on behalf of the Sender.

What you will receive

  • Rent payment reminders and confirmations
  • Maintenance request status updates
  • Lease renewal notices
  • Move-in / move-out reminders
  • Account security alerts (e.g., new device sign-in)
  • Transactional notifications related to your RentFlow account

Messages are transactional — sent only in response to account activity or on a schedule tied to your lease. We do not send promotional or marketing SMS.

Message frequency

Frequency varies based on your account activity. Typical recipients receive 1–10 messages per month. You will not be charged to receive messages from us, but message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.

How you opt in

You opt in to SMS notifications by explicitly checking a consent checkbox in the RentFlow application. Checking the box is an affirmative action that records your consent along with the date and time.

Consent is collected at these points:

  • Property managers and account owners — in Settings → SMS Notifications, after adding a phone number to the account.
  • Tenants and owners — during lease signing (a signed lease addendum) or when entering a phone number in the tenant portal profile.

No SMS is sent to any phone number for which RentFlow does not have a recorded consent timestamp. You are not required to consent to SMS as a condition of using RentFlow — all features also send the same notifications via email or in-app notification.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message you receive. You will receive one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive additional SMS from the same number. You can also opt out at any time by unchecking the SMS consent box in your account settings.

Carriers and service

RentFlow uses Twilio, Inc. as its telecommunications provider. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed.

Privacy

We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Your number is used only to deliver the notifications described above. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
